國外教授來訪學術演講「American foreign policy towards Taiwan」

SDGs:
Mr. Ross Feingold was invited as a guest speaker in the American Foreign Policy Course to present his standpoint on the recent US Presidential elections in general and their implication to US-China and US-Taiwan relations in particular. During his speech, Mr. Feingold discussed various topics, including, inter alia, multilateralism and international organizations/agreements, climate change, security and arms sales. In the context of US’ relations with China and Taiwan, Mr. Feingold stated that while the Biden administration might change some of Trump’s policies (e.g. hard on China, pro-Taiwan), there are a few factors that can limit Biden’s room for maneuverer. This is definitely the case in regards to changes that require congressional support. Finally, in the Q&A section, Mr. Feingold answers students’ questions regarding the possibility of Chinese invasion to Taiwan, US-Taiwan MOUs, and the impact of the American trade policies on Taiwan’s semi-conductor industry.
